Over 30 years of working in the design and advertising world has given me a broad range of experience that covers every aspect of design. I have worked in companies of all sizes, and with clients from a diverse range of industries, following existing brand guides for national corporations and developing new logos for small businesses. Branding, print communications, signage, publishing, websites, digital and social media – I have done them all.

Creating beautiful design is about more than just inspiration, it’s about understanding the client’s needs. Design must not only be attractive, but also functional, user-friendly and connect brands to people.

Colour creates a mood and is a core part of every brand’s communication. Every colour says something different. It can stand alone, as a background, or be applied to elements, like lines, shapes, textures or type.

Words are important, but how they look is equally so. Just like colour, texture, and shapes, the fonts you use tell readers if you’re a serious online news magazine, a playful food blog or a vintage tea shop.

Beginning my career as a traditional typesetter and finished artist gives me an in-depth understanding of the print process. My organisational and communication skills mean that I can take a job from initial client brief, liaise with suppliers and ensure that a quality product is delivered on time.
